This local US Consular Office in Genova is a great resource for anyone who has an immediate problem to solve and want to avoid hours of waiting times in the major Conlulate in Milan.
Of Course, since it is not a General Consulate like Milan, Rome etc etc their services are limited but still it’s a great resource for any type of immediate explanations for US expats or tourist. Dr. Anna Staiano the US Consuelor of Genova is an extremely competent person who has many years of experience with the US diplomacy and well introduced in the Italian bureaucracy.
We are lucky to have her in Genova!

Extraordinary service – phone system not working properly but once connected agent went out of her way to help us. Agent very personable. Filled out forms herself and arranged for photos. What we expected would take several days was done in one. Suggest going to office for more contact info if phone system still down.

The worst burocracy ever i needed my passport for a due date and they wouldn’t answer the phone the I needed my social security number and they did anything not to tell me the number. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. I would have put less than 1 star but you can’t
